The Philippines is one of the most underrated countries in Southeast Asia. Made up of over 7,000 islands, this tropical paradise is filled to the brim with white sand beaches, the clearest water you’ve ever seen, and island hopping tours in every corner you’ll find yourself exploring. During my two weeks in the Philippines, I

Picture this: You’ve dreamed of swimming with the world’s largest fish for ages and ages and after months of planning the seemingly perfect excursion, you arrive at the beach with hundreds of others in neon orange life jackets prepared for the same adventure. Exploring Kawasan Falls on Cebu (Without the Crowds)

    25/03/201805/01/2022

Visiting Kawasan Falls in Cebu is one of the most QUINTESSENTIAL things to do when traveling to the Philippines. While many people believe that this waterfall has become an overrated, crowded tourist trap, and while I can’t help but agree, I believe that if you visit Kawasan Falls at the right time, without the crowds,

FINDING CHEAP HIKING GEAR 👇🏼 One of my favo FINDING CHEAP HIKING GEAR 👇🏼

One of my favorite things about hiking is that it’s a cheap hobby to have, after the first initial investment.

While you don’t have to have the best gear, you do need items that are crucial for your safety! This adds up, so here’s where to find discounted stuff ✍🏼

🏕 FACEBOOK GROUPS / MARKETPLACE: These are the best because you can generally get some nice quality items for way cheap! I bought my Garmin InReach for $200 less and it’s brand new!

🥾ONLINE OUTLETS/APPS: Large retailers like REI and Patagonia have outlet links on their site where they sell certified used gear that goes through their team before it’s posted! Try checking apps like @depop and @poshmark for people selling their things!

🌲REI GARAGE SALE: I wish I would have known about before I bought all my gear! This is an annual event hosted by @rei where they sell all their clearance and returned gear at HUGE discounts in their parking lot! They host this every year around spring time

VISITING TOURISTY LOCATIONS 👇🏼 I’m a big VISITING TOURISTY LOCATIONS 👇🏼

I’m a big believer in paving your own adventure and enjoying whatever trip makes YOU the most fulfilled, however there are a lot of people that will shade you for visiting touristy locations nowadays.

⭐️ Here’s the deal, places are touristy for a reason and you don’t get some type of travel award because you didn’t go to the Blue Lagoon in Iceland 🇮🇸 or Kawasan Falls in the Philippines 🇵🇭

Anytime I am visiting a “tourist attraction” I aim for a few things to make it more enjoyable for myself, because let’s face it, no matter what you’re doing, feeling like a sardine isn’t fun.

✍🏼 TIPS

- Go in the off season. “Unfavorable” time to travel = less people! Think of it like going to Greece in the Winter vs Summer

- Arrive as early as possible. Your experience at the Trevi Fountain in Rome is going to be a hell of a lot different if you get there before sunrise.

Keeping these two things in mind helps make touristy places feel less touristy! I also mix in off the beaten path travel spots so that I feel the most fulfilled on my trips.

What type of travel fulfills you?

WHY EARLY HIKES ARE THE BEST HIKES 👇🏼 🌲 WHY EARLY HIKES ARE THE BEST HIKES 👇🏼

🌲The fewest amount of crowds
🌲The best weather

You can expect most trails in National Parks mainly to feel like a line at six flags if you get there late enough. I love waking up early because it allows me to squeeze in more hikes in my day and to avoid the midday heat 🥾🤾🏽
